Blessed Deipnon, everyone. With the new moon in Cancer, it’s a time for setting new intentions and self-nourishment. I don’t have any large rituals planned for tonight, just a small ritual of meditation, self-reflection and journaling. (With my baby fatigue, I don’t really have the energy for much more than that, LOL!) I found this affirmation on The Holy Witch instagram account, and I think it’s appropriate for the energy of this new moon:

‘I nurture, nourish and protect myself, and my loved ones as sacred. I call in blessings of love, prosperity and abundance.’

It’s beautiful, am I right?

I started my year-and-a-day journey with the Coven of Lilith this past Saturday. I was a bit nervous, but of course, my anxiety was for nothing. Elena split us into two coven groups that we’ll be working in, and all of the women I’ll be working with seem to be lovely so far. After our first gathering, I am actually really excited about this journey I’m about to embark on. It’s going to be a lot of hard work, but I’m totally here for it. I’m not sure how much of it that I’ll be able to share, because the material isn’t to be shared outside of our coven groups. I plan to share my own poems, prose, and spells here, but maybe I’ll also do reviews of the third-party books we read. Some thoughts to throw around.

Today also marks the halfway point in my pregnancy, at 20 weeks.

I still can’t feel baby kicking from the outside, but I certainly feel it on the inside. The heat has been making me feel a bit miserable, and the wildfire smoke just adds another layer to that misery. In addition to all the fans I’ve got going, I might be getting an AC unit for my bedroom this week, so that will definitely help.

I had a call with the public health nurse today, and she mentioned that when I meet my OB for Kamloops, to ask them to refer me to the social worker in the hospital I’ll be delivering at, so that financial assistance can be coordinated for the time I have to relocate to Kamloops. If it’s possible to get that, that would be such a weight off of my shoulders. I’m still going to start saving, just in case, but even just a little bit funding would help.

We’ve been stuck in a heatwave for weeks now, and being pregnant in this heat has made for a miserable start to July. So bloody uncomfortable. I did finally manage to get my lawn done, thank goodness, though my Charlie took over shortly after I started. Apparently the sight of me and my big belly pushing the Husqvarna around was especially pitiful, LOL.

This week was a bit hectic at work. I hate when that happens, as it’s so draining and doesn’t leave me much room for anything else. I had two days of patients to reschedule, which is my least favourite part of my job, but I managed it. Hopefully I won’t have to reschedule any more days this month, but we’ll see. I still need to get her emergency room schedule for August, and usually when I don’t have it by mid-month, there are at least three or four days I need to reschedule. August is going to be difficult, because she’s taking another week off. I’m hoping to get everything caught up in that time and get my desk cleaned up.

I finally got my next ultrasound appointment, for July 31. This is my anatomical ultrasound, so I should be finding out if I’m having a boy or a girl. I’m really excited about it, but I hate that I have to wait for so long. I’m supposed to have this scan between 18 and 20 weeks, and I will be 22 weeks on July 31. I will make sure to post the picture I get from the technician.

This week is going to be busy, and I’m not really forward to it. The heat is kicking my ass, but things still need to get done around here. I’m starting to draw up a plan on what I want for the baby’s room, now that all the furniture has arrived. My Charlie and I are going to be putting it to together and I am hoping that I will have the room ready to go by the end of August. I’ve decided I’m not going to paint, as that room was one of the last ones that my mom put together. Once I get everything out of there and get the carpet cleaned, I’m going to wash the walls and the windows and get everything nice and clean to bring the furniture in. The décor is going to depend on whether or not it’s a boy or girl, and I should know by then.

I am also going to be digging through a bunch of my old notebooks this week. Hopefully I’ll have a bunch of poetry posted at the next update. 🙂
